Welcome to the Home Page of the Department of Nephrology.
The department is currently on several sites within the
School of Medicine and Denstistry at
QMW. The Anthony Raine
Research Laboratories and the Renal Research Laboratory are located in the Dominion House complex at
West Smithfield, the remaining research activity is located at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel.
Anthony Raine Research Laboratories
Located on the second floor of Dominion House (Suite 22), the labs are named after the late Tony Raine who was Professor
of Renal Medicine at the School from 1992 until his untimely death in 1995. His main interest was hypertension and the
cardiovascular effects of renal disease and his work continues to be a major focus of the lab.
The current Academic Head is Dr Magdi Yaqoob who is joint laboratory head with Dr Anne Dawnay (Senior Lecturer,
Dept of Clinical Biochemistry)
Renal Research Laboratory
The Renal Research Lab. is located on the ground floor of Dominion House (Suites G3 to G4b).
Laboratory space in Dominion House is shared with Dr Anne Dawnay's group who have common research interests

Located at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel mainly in the laboratory of Professor JM Burrin
