Genetic studies of coeliac disease
Professor Ciclitira at St Thomas' Hospital has recruited a number of families in which
multiple cases of this syndrome have been found. We
failed to replicate
positive findings
in regions
which other groups have claimed show linkage, but we have recently completed a whole
genome scan which produced positive results in a number of other regions. We are currently investigating
these further using additional markers and new families.
