Barts and Boats, Part I (1840-1939) by C. N. Hudson - published in September 1954 edition of the Bart's Journal, gives a good account of first 100 years of the club. C.N. Hudson is now Prof. and is one of the club Presidents.

Barts and Boats, Part II (1940- ) by C. N. Hudson - published in November 1954, tells of Barts' exploits in the Cambridge bumps during the Second World War.

Hadfield's Folly, - from the Bart's Journal published in July 1955, recounts the events leading up to and surrounding the introduction of the UH Bumping Races to the Tideway.
